Helga, Russia – Level 3

Every person should strive to keep harmony between their physical body and their emotions. We show our emotions through different arts: music, poetry, painting, sculpture. I would like to write about what excites me now. My feelings are influenced by the music of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

P.I.Tchaikovsky is a great Russian composer. He was born on April 25th, 1840 and he died in 1893. He was 53. He studied to be a lawyer. After graduating from law school, he began studying in the Russian Conservatory in Saint-Petersburg at first. Then the future composer went to live and work in Moscow.

Here, in Moscow, the composer wrote music for ballets and operas such as “Swan Lake”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “The Nutcracker”, “Sleeping beauty”, “Eugene Onegin”. His “Piano Concerto No. 1” is an absolute hit of our times. Every second you can hear the music of P.I.Tchaikovsky played somewhere in the world.

Christmas is coming. The music from the ballet “The Nutcracker” is one of symbols of Christmas. It will sound in Russia, Europe, America. This music was written 125 years ago, in 1892. The music of the Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky is a vital part of the world heritage. When we listen to the music P.I.Tchaikovsky created, our souls are alive with emotions.
