THE NAVRATRI FESTIVAL IN INDIA.

Navratri (meaning “nine nights”) is a festival celebrated in India every year. It is not a one day celebration. The festival lasts nine nights.

During the celebrations people come together on the squares during the day or on the playgrounds in the evenings. First, they worship God and then they dance together in a circle. They wear traditional dresses. They dance garba, a traditional Indian dance. There is singing, music and colourful lights till midnight for nine nights…
